The first home at Dere Street Homes’ prestigious Longhirst Hall development is due to be released next month in response to the incredible levels of public interest already being shown in the conversion of the Grade II listed hall.

Located just to the north of Morpeth and minutes away from the new link to A1(M) the development will consist of a wide variety of designs ranging from two and three bedroom apartments, three bedroom townhouses, right up to three, four and five bedroom houses with the grandest being the seven bedroom conversion of the original main hall designed by the famous John Dobson for the Lawson family in 1824.

The first home to be released for sale will be the five bedroom detached Micklewood House, converted an innovative conversion of the former Decoro Spa whish was located in the grounds of the iconic Hall. Dere Street Homes are currently finishing the conversion with the price due to be released upon next month’s development launch.

Managing Director, Chris Hogan, explained the new development, “It’s a fascinating project working within a listed building and the homes will be truly luxurious with the jewel in the crown being a seven bedroom Main House  with over 13,000 sq ft of space. There are also four other original historic homes for sale ranging from a five bedroom 7,000 sq ft home to a three bedroom former coach house all designed by John Dobson, the builder of Grey Street. There’s also nine large open plan three bedroom townhouses  and we’re planning for 13 two and three bedroom apartments together with two additional new build three bedroom homes – a total of some 30 properties.”

“We have retained the superb historic features wherever possible and are restoring the property to its original use planned by John Dobson almost 200 years ago. The initial interest in the homes has already been very high and I’m sure prospective buyers will be impressed by the superb internal specification and the historic exteriors in addition to the magnificent setting.”

“These will be stunning homes in a superb location with some designs containing more than a few surprises of cellars, period details and superbly proportioned living spaces all set in 75 acres of landscaped grounds. The initial interest has been very high and we already have several serious enquiries on the larger homes.”
