Size Is Everything at Longhirst

It could have been any number of factors including the location, the price or the quality of the fittings that’s attracting buyers to Dere Street Homes’ prestigious Longhirst Hall development but for one visitor, the answer to the question of what was the main attraction was clear – the size of the master bedroom!

Dere Street Homes’ development Sales Manager, Yvonne Wilson, commented, “We’ve had a fantastic reaction to our three bedroom townhouse showhome since it opened three weeks ago with some wonderful compliments about the design and standard of fittings and, whilst we were obviously aware that the huge master bedroom at 7.5m by 5.8m was very appealing, we didn’t think it would be a tie-breaker until one of our visitors had compared it to bedrooms at other new developments around the Morpeth area and was sold on Longhirst!”

Set in the mature woodland and landscaped gardens of John Dobson’s grand country house, the LABC Award-winning County Durham-based developers are converting the Conference Centre of the former Longhirst Hall Hotel into just nine three bedroom townhouses with prices starting from £460,000. Located just to the north of Morpeth and minutes away from the newly opened link to A1(M), the development will also include two and three bedroom apartments converted from the hotel’s 77 bedrooms with five exceptionally spacious properties converted from the Grade II listed hall itself.

The three bedroom townhouse showhome features an expansive open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area with superb floor-to ceiling Bi-fold doors which open fully onto the individual rear gardens, allowing the indoor and outdoor areas to be truly combined. A separate family room, fully plumbed utility room and WC complete the ground floor with stairs leading to the first floor landing. The spacious master bedroom comes with full en-suite facilities and superb views over the rear gardens, whilst the front-facing bedrooms two and three share the large family bathroom.

Yvonne Wilson continued, “We’ve had three great weekend for visitors with many returning two or three times so we are expecting a busy Easter weekend and we’ve naturally stocked up with Easter eggs to keep our visitors happy whilst they look around the showhome and the grounds of the Hall!”
